Explosion Proof Electric Ball Valve

Electric actuators control the opening and closing of a valve’s orifice, permitting or preventing flow of a liquid, gas or mixture. They operate in a wide range of automated process control systems, including those used to handle hazardous areas. Some are explosion proof, which means their coils and enclosures can contain any internal spark that might ignite combustible gases, vapours or particulates present in the surrounding environment. Explosion proof solenoid valves are classified according to different standards: NEMA (National Electric Code), IEC Ex (International Electrotechnical Commission Explosion) and ATEX (ATmospheres EXplosibles).

A flange ball valve with an electric actuator receives electrical impulses that cause it to open or close, regulating the flow of fluid in a system. The actuator can be switched between on/off and regulation modes for precise, reliable control. These units are designed to be used in hazardous areas and can accommodate a variety of flange connections. They’re commonly used in petroleum, chemical, metallurgy, water treatment, papermaking, power station, heat supply and light industry.

The explosion-proof EL-XP series by Valtorc International is an ATEX/IECEx certified full-bore, stainless steel actuated valve that meets NEMA 4, 4X, 7 and 9 standards for corrosion resistance. This model features a NEMA-compatible housing and a compact design for easy installation. It’s available in several models, ranging in output torque from 350in/lbs to 725in/lbs. This model is also offered with various modulating and heating accessories. Explosion Proof Electric Ball Valve
